The roads and trails through the Black Hills are no better experienced then by bicycle. We offer day and multi-day tours in the Black Hills, both fully guided and self-guided. Road and mountain bikes are available for rental as well, so you can head out and explore this beautiful area on your own!
What better way to explore this unique landscape then by pedal powering your way through some of the most scenic roads in North America. We are privileged to have a wonderful variety of paved roads, gravel roads and rail-to-trail systems, which allow us to design excursions fitting of your groups riding capabilities and traffic tolerances. When the days riding is done the fun doesn’t stop there: we explore cultural elements and the rich Native American history of this region, we tour the world famous granite monuments, and we adventure through our famous State and National Parks full of native wildlife.
From spending the day with the family riding a section of the 109-mile Michelson rail-to-trail, to spending a week pedaling your way through the diverse landscapes of the Badlands through Black Hills and up to Devil’s Tower, we offer a wide variety of bike tours. Numerous roads in the Black Hills were developed solely for the purpose of enjoyment way back in the 1930’s. We tend to think of these as play roads, with their skinny tunnels, towering granite spires, and one way narrow winding sections through the forest, it is hard to imagine a more enjoyable set of roads to encounter on a bike!
Nobody likes spending the day on an uncomfortable saddle or on a rickety frame with a squeaky chain! We pride ourselves in having a high quality fleet of 2018 Norco bikes. Our main bikes are Norco Search, which are considered adventure or gravel bikes, meaning they are great for the road but can also tackle stretches of gravel roads and the Mickelson trail head on! We also offer some new Norco flat bar road/gravel bikes for clients that prefer flat handle bars over the drop bars on the Search. Bikes are included on all of our bike tours and are also available to rent if you decide to head out and explore on your own! Check out the bike rentals and rates here!
Our bike tours aren’t just all about biking. We stop at scenic overlooks and areas of interest. We typically combine our tours with other cultural and recreational activities or scenic drives. On our multi-day excursions, we spend time most days exploring the deep Native American, historical and monumental elements that are so rich here in Western South Dakota.
Want to adventure independently? Go for it! Click Here to head to our rentals page for a full list of our Norco hybrid, and road/gravel bikes and our e-bike prices.
