Tour with a local guide through Sylvan Lake and a Custer State Park hike, take in the views and history of Black Elk Peak and venture down Needles Highway and Iron Mountain Road. Afterwards we finish the day with jaw dropping fun in Keystone at the Rushmore Tramway Adventures!
We begin this adventure tour from your accommodation in Rapid City. Enjoy the comfortable drive up to Custer State Park, our first stop is a leisurely walk around Sylvan Lake. Next stop Little Devils Tower for a great hike (3 miles) to enjoy panoramic views of the Cathedral Spires and Black Elk Peak. (Please note this is Little Devils Tower in Custer State Park, not to be mistaken for Devils Tower National Monument in Wyoming, see our Northern Hills tour if you would like to see that!)
After the hike we continue down Needles Highway passing through the famous tunnels and Needles Eye, stopping at Peter Norbeck overlook before driving the famous Iron Mountain Road, home of the pigtail bridges and numerous rock tunnels blasted to frame Mount Rushmore. We have a scenic picnic lunch at Lakota Lake (included)!

There’s a variety of activities to do at the Adventure Park including a zip line tour, ropes course off the ground, and an alpine slide.
